Richard Andrews

Senior Counsel

Transcarent

Richard Andrews currently serves as Senior Counsel at Transcarent, a growth stage venture led by healthtech entrepreneur Glen Tullman on a mission to create a new, different, and better health and care experience that puts health consumers in charge, directly connecting them with high-quality care, transparent information, and trusted guidance on their terms – measurably improving Member experience, increasing health outcomes, and reducing costs.

A proud member of the Data & Trust Alliance, Transcarent recently completed an acquisition transaction with 98point6, a virtual care company powered by an AI chatbot that collects information via a text exchange with the patient and summarizes it for a human doctor who then takes over the chat. As a key leader in Transcarent’s negotiations and due diligence process with 98point6, Richard had the opportunity to become an early user of the Responsible Culture, Data & AI Diligence for M&A diligence tools that have been developed by the D&TA and is looking forward to sharing some of his experiences.

Richard joined Transcarent as an early employee while the company was in stealth mode and has enjoyed helping to build the company’s legal function from the ground up. Prior to joining Transcarent, Richard practiced corporate and securities law at premier global law firms Latham & Watkins and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. A Northern California native, Richard received his law degree from UC Berkeley and holds an MBA from UC Davis.
